Eminems Relapse and Asher Roth's Beginning

Lets face it many of us are getting tired and maybe angry with rap nowadays, with the same stupid topics of money, cars, girls, and guns. I for one am just so sick of listening to these stupid songs and the only thing that makes them appealing now is the beat and rhythm itself. People don't really listen to the lyrics rappers are putting out now but the melodies of the music producers. An example would Lil Wayne, his Carter 3 was crap in my opinion. The only reason I actually listened to it was because of the melodies they made sense not the lyrics, and associated acts as well not just him its a whole list of these rappers. Their first albums would be good have some meaning but once they get rich boom that's when the sellout material takes over, it happens almost every time. Also the music videos what's the meaning of those? I don't know what their trying to show but I laugh every time I see one because they look so ridiculous and stupid showing off what they have and making all those little hand gestures. Back in the 90's rap actually meant something especially coming from N.W.A which was the father of gangsta rap, they rapped about how it was like living in Compton, things they went through, things they saw, and stuff that happened. Asher Roth a new generation rapper is making and redefining rap for himself setting the bar for younger and aspiring rappers. His rap deals with politics and government leaving behind all that lyrical nonsense previous rappers were glorified on. Eminem to dubbed as one of the best rappers to ever grace the mic is reinventing himself, pushing himself farther than his limits. Relapse shows this and in my opinion is one of his great albums, rapping about his reinvented self from former addiction to pills.Asher Roth and Eminem have really set a new bar and and revolutionizing rap itself into a more meaningful and politically appealing art form.

Live Above MariWanna?

It always have been fascinated me how much the government's views have changed on marijuana especially now. You always see those commercials "live above the influence" where they show a kid being pressured to smoke weed or the commercial says if you smoke marijuana how much of yourself are you leaving behind, is everything worth fitting into, the list goes on. The government has labeled users as lazy, irresponsible, and stupid and this really shows how the government insults its own citizens. I am a marijuana smoker and I sure as hell am not lazy or irresponsible, many people i know who don't smoke are lazy and sometimes irresponsible now what does that tell you. I recall being back in high school taking health class and the teacher telling us all these claims marijuana will do to you which of course I found were false a couple years afterwards. The tactics to make marijuana as unappealing as possible have changed over the years. From claims that it will kill brain cells, people would go insane "reefer madness" etc. Now the claims are not physical dangers but marijuana causes social dangers which is total bullshit in my opinion. I have never had a time where I felt alienated or felt like a sociopath from smoking, it makes me want to share what I'm thinking or feeling. Marijuana is a euphoric and mind opening substance which I believe has helped people open up to each other and in most cases made their lives easier. The government can keep on lying to its citizens making false claims and what not but in the end the truth will be revealed and for the millionth time the citizens will have no one to blame but the government.

THE TOBACCO INDUSTRY

I really don't understand why people are so angry and upset at tobacco companies, because in all respects it is just like any other company or industry making a product, advertising it in magazines or billboards to the public so that it appeals to them and then they could go and buy it for themselves. People don't have to buy it everyone has a brain you know, everyone has the ability to decide for themselves weather or not to buy tobacco products especially teens who have been warned and told of the dangers they possess. If they choose to go out and start using these products it is totally their decision and is not the fault of the industries. The industry is just an organized group trying to make as much money as possible like all others.
People for years have been trying to ban the sale of tobacco without much success and keep spending money on worthless commercials like "the truth" which not only advertise the harm of tobacco which everyone knows about but also the advertisement of tobacco itself which keeps making itself a more appealing product to kids and teens. Just like the cigarette commercials that used to air years ago these commercials "the truth" have taken their place and is already creating new smokers.
In my opinion i applaud the industry for surviving all these pressures as an industry not as a harmful product producer which is still going strong even though taxes have increased in the sale of their products.
